zucchini brownie

last wednesday we got to choose a health food choice to create.
Maringirangi, Jazz , and I chose to make zucchini brownies as we have never tried or thought of putting zucchini in a brownie. it was pretty good i enjoyed it and by the sounds of mum she did aswell.

if you would like to make this at home follow steps below.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups zucchini medium size hole shredded (not tightly packed)

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/2 cup coconut oil melted

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup honey or any liquid sweetener

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup cacao or cocoa powder

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 cup plain flour

  • Instructions

    1. Place zucchini in a colander while you are getting other ingredients ready.

    2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and line 8 x 8 baking dish with unbleached parchment paper.

    3. In a large bowl, add egg, oil, maple syrup and pure vanilla extract; whisk to combine.

    4. Add cacao powder, baking soda and salt; whisk until well mixed.

    5. Give zucchini a gentle squeeze but do not ring out completely, add to a bowl and stir.

    6. Add flour and mix gently until combined.

    7. Transfer batter into prepared baking dish and level with spatula. Bake for 25-28 minutes or until the centre is barely jiggly. Do not over bake as brownies will have more of a cake consistency. A toothpick inserted has to come out somewhat not clean. If centre is too jiggly bake a bit more - ovens vary.

    8. Remove from the oven and let cool for about an hour. Lift by the parchment paper flaps and transfer to a cooling rack to cool off completely.

    9. Cut into 16 squares.

Rice paper spring rolls

on Wednesday we made these "rice paper spring rolls" we used rice noodux, carrots, lettuce, and red peppers. I DO NOT recommend them as they taste really bad and the texture is like a soggy condom filled with vegetables. Once i saw what it looked it was very unappetising. if you want to try it a real spring roll go to the tuck shop ;)

 just my opinion.

In Coraline there is exstreme lighting and colour differences between the real world and the other world. When we first see the real world it is very boring and dull. It is shown in the pink palace that Coraline lives in. When we are introduced to the other world it is warm welcoming colours. This place is vibrant, full of colour, and is presented a "better" place then the real world. where she was in the real world. Then by the end of the film and bright warm colours of the other turn into blinding purple and greens. The colour palette changes while still keeping the bright colours of the other world, it’s still darker as the other world is falling apart. At the end of the film we are back in the real world. Instead of it being grey and dull, it’s brighter while still keeping the muted colour palette.

Potato Frittata

we boiled the potato's in a medium sized bowl in the microwaves. while they were boiling we set up all the vegetable's ready to slice and dice. Ingredients we used: potato's, eggs, tomato, onion, mushroom, broccoli and more. It looked very appealing to the eye and tasted just as good. It smelt pretty cheesy and couldn't wait to take the first bite.

i give this dish a 9.

i dont think i wound change anything, we took a risk with the veges we put in and it payed off.

the team worked well together and we were all on the same page.

Sugar

 SUGAR

how much sugar are you consuming per day?

the amount of sugar recommended per day? men should consume no more then 9 teaspoons (36 grams or 150 calories) of added sugar per day. For woman, the number is lower: 6 teaspoons (25 grams or 100 calories) per day.

how to reduce the amount of sugar we eat each day. Choose water or milk over juice or fizzy, eat your fruit don't drink it in a smoothie-shake etc. Herbal teas are flavoursome alternatives without any added sugar.

hello-goodbye poem

Hello goodbye

Hello to the back to school morning routines.
Goodbye to the long sleep in’s and no alarms.

Hello to 5 days of school and weekends.
Goodbye to feeling like you're on holiday for 7 weeks.

Hello to haircut shops reopening.
Goodbye to being stuck at home with a flat razor that we lost the charger to.

Hello to level 2.
Goodbye to level 3,4.

Hello to being able to see everyone again.
Goodbye to having bubbles.

Separating a Mixture using Evaporation:

Aim: To separate the solid from the liquid.
Hypothesis: I think it will boil and evaporate.

Equipment: Copper sulphate solution, 250mL Beaker, heat proof mat, evaporating basin, element.
Method:
  1. Set up element
  2. Add 50mL of hot water to the beaker and place on the element.
  3. Add copper sulphate to the evaporating basin until it is quarter full.
  4. Carefully, place the the evaporating basin on top of the beaker.
  5. Turn on the element to 8
  6. Heat the solution until most of the solvent has been evaporated and crystals of solute are forming.
  7. Turn off the element- careful not to touch as will be hot for a long time.

Observation: I heard the boiling water.
Conclusion: Its gonna evaporate.
Discussion: The mixture heated up and boiled then evaporated.
Evaluation: Use a bigger object to hold it.

Safety signs
Engineering Fails to watch this video click the link

Unlike prohibitory signs, mandatory signs tell traffic what it must do, rather than must not do. Most mandatory road signs are circular, may use white symbols on a blue background with white border or black symbols on a white background with a red border, although the latter is also associated with prohibitory signs.
Prohibited signs:No access for unauthorized persons - Prohibited signs are safety signs which give information about prohibited behavior through a combination of geometrical form and color as well as ambiguous symbols. ... Prohibited signs are indications which forbid dangerous behaviour.
Hazard symbols or warning symbols are recognisable symbols designed to warn about hazardous or dangerous materials, locations, or objects, including electric currents, poisons, and radioactivity. The use of hazard symbols is often regulated by law and directed by standards organisations.
